Sensory Garden completed thanks to generous donations from The National Lottery Community Fund and The High Sheriff Trust

We would like to say a huge thank you to The High Sheriff Trust for their generous donation to The Garden house of £500 and to The National Lottery for their community fund donation of £8,900.

This donation goes towards the completion and maintenance of our sensory garden.

Our sensory garden is on an accessible pathway next to the riverside. The raised planters have a variety of flowers and plants chosen for their texture, colour and fragrance to stimulate the senses.

Visitors to the sensory garden are encouraged to touch and smell the flowers as well as listen to the riverside sounds. This is particularly beneficial for children living with complex needs who can engage with the outdoor environment.

Donations and community funding mean we can continue to give back to our community and create a safe and engaging outdoor space for those with complex needs to enjoy.

Our Petition has reached 30,000 signatures

We have an exciting announcement to make…..

Our petition has reached over 30,000 signatures!

This is HUGE news for us, this means over 30,000 of you support The Garden House and want us to stay open .

We would like to say THANK YOU to our community and each and every person who has taken the time to sign the petition online and on paper .

Your comments and support prove to the council that The Garden House is an asset to our community that should NOT be closed down.

With over 30,000 signatures this is one big statement!…

We started the petition after our planning applications were refused, this put us under threat of closure and leaves the future of The Garden House uncertain .

We believe your feedback and comments prove the many benefits we continue to provide to our community. We have shared just some a few of them on this post .

We will now be closing our petition and will await the decision of Stockport council. You can continue to show your support by liking and sharing this post and donating.

We still have a long way to go but with the support of our community behind us we are certainly going in the right direction.

We have lots of exciting announcements coming soon so watch this space.

The Garden House is here to STAY!

Many thanks- The Garden House team .

GoodGym Stockport ‘Making The Garden House a Home’ April 2021

Huge thank you to GoodGym Stockport for their hard work yesterday, looking great.

Our raised beds are ready for planting and they even helped feed our chickens!

Good Gym Stockport ‘Making The Garden House a home’
The sun was shining for our very first, post lockdown @goodgym Community Mission back at the beautiful @thegardenhousemarple.

Lisa and Rob, along with a very dedicated team of feathered friends, transformed the raised beds from a carpet of weeds to fresh soil. One large hen ‘Beatrice’ with a healthy appetite for worms became their close companion!

The Garden House named as a ‘local cause’ by the Coop

The Garden House has been chosen as a ‘local cause’ by the Coop.

This means that those with a Coop membership can choose The Garden House (MARPLE) Charity as a local cause and support us every time they shop. Every time you spend in store on selected products and services, we will receive 1% and you will receive 5% back.

Kevin, director of The Garden House, said, “We feel truly honoured to have been picked as a local cause by the Coop, and are very grateful for all those who choose us as their ‘local cause’. Now more than ever your support means the world to us! Thank you.”
